Orphans in Need are a charitable organisation which was established in order to help some of the world's most vulnerable and needy people. Like many charities, Orphans in Need is committed to the alleviation of all forms of poverty and deprivation, in all parts of the globe. However, the organisation's primary focus is on orphans and widows - often the weakest members of any society and the most affected by the scourge of poverty.

About our team

We are a bunch of nutty (but serious when we need to be) individuals who have always been involved with charity work from a young age.

Our recent charity project as a team was to trek Mount Snowdon in Wales for Islamic Relief's Water4Life campaign.

Mount Snowdon

Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales with an altitude of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft). Our trek involved a four hour climb up the mountain, with a 3 hour descent.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Individual members of the team have extended their nuttiness with treks early in 2012 to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania where the cause was again for Islamic Relief's Water4Life campaign.

There was a freak storm on the day of the summit where some climbers lost their lives. Unknown to the team, Duncan Bannatyne from BBC's Dragons Den was also summiting on the same day.
